After 140 years at its old Saltergate Ground, Chesterfield Football Club finally re-located in 2010, to a brand new 10,500 seater stadium to nearby Whittington Moor location at a cost of £13m.
One of the major features of any sports ground today is spectator safety, especially following the Bradford and Hillsborough disasters. The Kirby group has been involved with the Spireites since the Clubs relocation in ensuring that its home and away fans as well as all the groups that use the facility are fully protected when it comes to Ground Safety.
The Kirby Group ensure that all the stadium's Fire, CCTV and Intruder Systems are maintained giving the Stadium's Health and Safety Manager the confidence that there will be no issues that could lead to a breach of health and safety or impact on visitor safety.
Chesterfield Football Club were founded in 1886 and currently play in Division 2 of the Football League. Their most notable successes occurred in the 1990s when they won the Division 3 playoff final and reached the FA Cup semi-finals two years later).
